The
Townsend Letters for Doctors
published an elaborate article by Dr. Mark A. Brudnak in which
he states that “exposure of the human body to toxin often
begins before birth (in the mother’s womb).
Exposure to a toxic load has been linked to a wide range
of congenital maladies,” (one of the worst culprits is
mercury). It has
been suggested that
environmentally acquired mercury,
obtained either through contaminated foods, dental fillings, or
vaccination, plays a major role in Autism and a whole spectrum or
attention deficit disorders.
Dr. Brudnak provides evidence to the fact that large amounts of
Probiotics (good bacteria) eliminate most toxins, and especially
mercury. Throughout his article, Dr. Brudnak shows how the good
intestinal bacteria (Probiotics) promote detoxification.
High levels of organic mercury are neurotoxic and the
removal from the gut reduces their ability to reach the brain.
“The detoxification of organic mercury by bacteria
takes advantage of their ability to convert toxic mercury into
nontoxic forms.” Probiotic
are already known for other important functions such as their
ability to repair the intestinal mucosa and stunt the growth of
yeast and other pathogens.
To these important function we can now add its beneficial
role in the detoxification of mercury and other toxins.
When mercury is incorporated into the bacteria, it is
expelled from the body through the feces.
Elimination of the toxic mercury through the feces is
extremely important to avoid its reabsorption into the blood
stream. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP),
90% of mercury is excreted from the bile into the feces.
If bacteria remain inside of the intestines, there is
more possibility that the body will absorb not only mercury but
other toxic substance. Other important everyday interventions that help eliminate
mercury are
cilantro,
coriander,
and all high fiber foods.
Scrubbing the intestines to make certain that the
mercury-containing bacteria are expelled is therefore part of the very
important detoxification process.
Even during intravenous Chelation therapy, which dislodges
the mercury from its reserves and brings it back into
circulation, the bowel scrubbing and the bowel healing program
(with large amounts of Probiotic) to expedite its excretion
through the feces is an essential component of the treatment.
