Review
of the Multiple Factors (Loading Theory) in the Pathogenesis of
Chronic
Fatigue
Syndrome. Theoretical Review & Treatment
Serafina Corsello M.D.., Physician & Executive Director, Wellness medical center, NYC
Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) has elicited much controversy in the
medical field mostly because medicine is accustomed to look for
one major pathogenic event for any disease process. CFS is a
multi-system disease in which fatigue is the central issue.
Cognitive
dysfunction, sleep disturbances, muscle aches, exercise
intolerance, sore throat and bout’s of tender lymph nodes,
mostly in the cervical region are also landmarks of this disease
complex. This makes the diagnostic evaluation somewhat
elusive.
In
our presentation we will illustrate case histories in which we
have been able to unravel the complexity of the syndrome, look at
the various factors, deal with them as they present themselves and
eventually set up a very effective treatment protocol.
